Poster mounting

The posters will be mounted on Sunday, 6th of June 2010, between 11 am and 1 pm.
The size of poster is 70cm (horizontally) x 100cm (vertically).
The organizers will provide all the necessary mounting accessories.

Invitation Letter go top

If requested by the participants, an official invitation letter will be sent by the Congress Secretariat. Such solicited invitations, however, will not offer any payment of expenses, such as fees, travel or hotel accommodation for the Congress.

How to get to Cracow go top

Cracow offers easy direct air connections to many cities around the Europe. The Balice airport (Jan Paweł II airport) is the second biggest airport in Poland. It is situated about 10 km away from Hotels, and about 3 km from Balice Conference Venue.

The most convenient transport from the airport is taxi (about 80-90 PLN). There is also possibility to take a train “Balice Express” (ticket, 8 PLN, can be bought at the airport or in the train) to the Main Railway Station in Cracow. Other possibilities are buses number 208 or 209 (ticket 3.5 PLN) directly from the airport to the city center or renting a car in the airport hall.

There is also possibility to get to Cracow by train. The Main Railway Station in Cracow is situated in the city center (15 min. walk to the Main Market Square), 5 km away from Hotels, 18 km from the airport and 15 km from Balice Conference Venue.

How to get to Balice Congress Venue go top

The most convenient transport from Balice Airport to the Congress Venue is taxi. There is also possibility to take a bus number 209, but the bus is only one per hour.

Transport from the Novotel and ETAP Hotels to the Conference Center in Balice will be provided each day (both directions) by Organizers .

If you fly to Balice Airport on Sunday and want to get to Congress Venue directly from airport, please let us know via e-mail (abratus@izoo.krakow.pl). The Organizers can provide a car transport for you.

Visas go top

Within the European Union’s borders, visas are not required. Since December of 2007, Poland has been a member of the Schengen Agreement.

Citizens of the following countries can travel to Poland without a visa:

Public Transportation go top

Relatively safe and efficient, Cracow public transport system covers the entire city with buses and tramways, operating from 5 am to midnight. Tickets can be bought at RUCH kiosks, on some bus/tram stops in vending machines and insight buses and trams in vending machines or from drivers.

Bus, Tram tickets – 2.5 zl for one-fare pass or 3.1 zl for one-hour pass. Students (under 26, with valid student card): 1.35 zl for one-fare pass or 1.65 zl for one-hour pass.

Taxis are available in taxi ranks or by phone, e.g.: +481219661, +481219688, +481219628 and many others. During the day (6 am to 10 pm) taxi prices are: obligatory rental charge (about 7 zl) plus about 2.3 zl/km in the city (zone I) and about 5 zl/km in the outskirts of the city (zone II). During the night (10 pm to 6 am) prices are higher.

Climate go top

Poland lies in a moderate zone with mixed continental and oceanic climate influences. In Cracow the weather during June is usually sunny with occasional storms, but some days might be rainy. Average temperatures in June range between 22.0° C (70.9° F) and 11.0° C (51.4° F).

Insurances go top

The congress fee does not include insurance. All participants should arrange for their own insurance in their country of origin.

Electrical Appliances go top

The electrical supply is 230 volts, 50Hz. The connection for appliances is European plug (2 pin plug). Visitors who have flat 3-pin or other plugs, are advised to bring an appropriate adaptor or check availability with their hotel in advance.

Currency go top

The monetary unit is "zloty" (zl; PLN) (1 zloty = 100 groszy), which comes in bank notes of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 zl and coins of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 "groszy" (gr) and 1, 2, 5 zł .

At present, the exchange rate is 1 Euro = ~ 4 zl.

Facilities for exchange of currency are available at the airport, hotels, banks and exchange offices. Banks are open weekdays from 8.30 am to 6 pm.

Credit Cards go top

Visa and Master Card are widely accepted at hotels, stores, shops and restaurants.

Social Program go top

Invitation Party, 6th June 2010, 7:30 pm, is included in the Registration Fee. It will be held in the Bronowice Novotel Hotel.

Lunches will be held in the Balice Palace – 5 min walk from the Conference Venue.

Coffee Breaks will be held close in the Conference Venue.

Social Dinner, 8th June 2010, 7:30 pm, is optional – not included in the Registration Fee (the price is 50 Euro). It will be held in the Bronowice Novotel Hotel Restaurant which will provide you the perfect mix of Polish cuisine.

The Organizing Committee organize:

Cracow Tour – 7th June 2010, 6 pm, is included in the Registration Fee. The tour will be around the old city center with guide.

Wieliczka Salt Mine Tour - 9th June 2010, 9.30 am – 2 pm, is optional – not included in the Registration Fee (the price is 50 Euro). TheThe Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the most valuable cultural monuments in Poland, visited each year by over a million tourists from around the world. It is also a world class historical monument and as such is inscribed in UNESCO's First World List of Cultural and Natural Heritage. Today, the Wieliczka Salt Mine represents both many centuries of tradition and modernity, centuries of history, and an underground city with an extensive infrastructure. The Mine is the heritage of the work of several dozen generations of miners, and a monument of the history of Poland and the Polish nation – a brand that has been created in the Polish collective consciousness over centuries. The Mine trade mark is among the oldest in the world. It is also the oldest Polish brand: it was the Wieliczka Salt Mine that started to mark the manufactured product (salt) with a trademark. This mark was placed on the whitest salt from the purest deposits destined for the royal table, and packed in barrels marked with the Royal Eagle.
